Quick Ways to Conquer the Quarantine

Updated: Apr 1, 2020

As the world reels from the impact of the COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis, we hope you and your family are safe and healthy.

First and foremost, a huge shout out and thank you to healthcare workers, essential personnel, and everyone on the front lines fighting this pandemic. Second, if you are teleworking or homeschooling, kudos to you, as well. It’s extremely important to self-quarantine to the extent possible, but the transition into this “new normal” may have you feeling out of sorts, to say the least.

At Hickman Rose Strategies, our goal is to help you thrive! Try these 3 simple, yet impactful ways to remain motivated, engaged, and productive. Take a sick day: Working remotely certainly supports social distancing and eases some things like commuting and distractions, but you're still on the clock! In fact, you might be putting in more hours at home than you do at the office. If you're feeling overwhelmed and you have paid leave, use it! If you don't have paid leave, set boundaries on your work hours and give yourself plenty of breaks. Your mental and physical health are paramount. Take a free course: Refresh your mind by learning something new. There are tons of free courses available across all disciplines and interests. You can improve your skills and boost your résumé in just a few hours. Also, check websites like Eventbrite to discover free or low-cost personal and professional development webinars. Take a leap: Now is the time to launch, create, implement...just DO the things you've been putting off (or making excuses about doing). Start the podcast. Write the business plan. Grow your side hustle. Revive your job search. The goal is to be bold now so you'll be better and stronger when life ramps up again. Don't regret squandering this downtime. You've got this!

Most importantly, don’t forget to take care of yourself. Please seek whatever help you may need to stay in good physical, mental, and financial condition. Search online for federal, state, and local resources that may be beneficial to you and your family (i.e. SBA loans, stimulus funding, unemployment compensation).

If you need a boost, let's chat. We’ve starting hosting Motivation Mondays! Send us an email to schedule a complimentary clarity call for next Monday, and we'll figure things out in a flash.

Take care, and we'll talk soon.

Thinking of you and rooting for you!
